Quilting by the Bay Shop Tour
Our building started its life as a home in the early 1960s and has undergone several renovations and additions in its 45 year history. Our latest addition in 2006 provided a much needed storage room and added the signature blue metal roof. The shop is approximately 3200 square feet and we carry around 4000 bolts of fabric at any one time.
The floor plan is fairly open but cozy; we strive to keep the walkways uncluttered and open enough for wheelchair bound customers to get around easily. We have several movable displays that allow us to change the look and flow of the store periodically.
When you enter the store from the front door the first area you will see is our center island displaying the newest fabric collections.
An upstairs loft is the home to “Belle” our Gammill longarm Statler Stitcher and provides a staff work area for cutting and packaging kits.
Quilts are displayed over the 20’ loft railing, on the walls and on small wooden quilt racks throughout the store.
A “colorwall” which includes basics and blenders extends the full length of the store.
There is an eclectic collection of vintage sewing machines dotting the top of many of the fabric shelves and several pieces of antique furniture add a bit of charm too.
When you are in the area please stop by and visit us!
